Peter Dundas got a standing ovation at his Emilio Pucci show over the weekend. Accompanied by his design team, he drank in the applause. It was a bow that many presume to be his final one at the house he has designed at since 2009. While the house has not issued an official statement, rumors have swirled around the position for months, including talk that Dundas was headed for Roberto Cavalli or that Marco Zanini, late of Schiaparelli, would replace him. LVMH chief Pierre-Yves Roussel told the New York Times that “We cannot officially confirm or deny” anything, while the designer himself elliptically told the paper, “I’m not supposed to talk about that.”

However, at this point, many are treating a Dundas departure as a fait accompli. Suzy Menkes, for one, has already seized on a possible successor: Massimo Giorgetti of MSGM, whom she called “the top tip to take over at Pucci from outgoing designer Peter Dundas.” We’ve reached out to Emilio Pucci for a comment and will update this when we hear back.
