Versace, for the Glamazon Who’s Ready to Lean In

Alessandro Michele of Gucci and Miuccia Prada have spent this week making allusions to ‘60s mod, and it stands to reason that their countrywoman Donatella Versace would get in on the mood too. However, Versace’s go-go girls were all glamazon, in monochrome red or yellow minidresses and mini-ponchos, set off by wacky Polly Magoo sunglasses. But when she wasn’t pulling from the ‘60s, Versace was exploring a less frequently revived classic: ‘80s power suiting. She even donned one of her pinstriped designs for her bow. By the last third of the show, logo mania had officially taken hold, with examples ranging from low-key (sweatshirts with the embroidered logo) to full-on (Natasha Poly’s finale look, embroidered all over with letters spelling out the brand name — complete with sparkly hashtags, of course).
