We’ve made it to Paris, the homestretch of fashion month, where trends can blossom on their own or solidify things we’ve seen in New York, London, and Milan. And, as of yesterday, it’s certain that socks worn with heels is a thing that is happening — or at least a neat little styling trick.
At Rochas, Alessandro Dell’Acqua created an Instagram frenzy with festive fringed slingbacks worn with monogrammed bobby socks. It was a more feminine take than in Milan at Jil Sander, where the schoolmarm-meets-fetish-ready leather socks were layered under chunky heels. And at Prada, always a welcome place for socks and hosiery, platform clogs of carved wood were shown with knee-high printed granny socks — which could become all the rage next spring.
