Chanel Staged a ‘Feminist’ Protest on the Spring Runway

Remember how Karl Lagerfeld showed those tone-deaf, politically incorrect headdresses during his show for the 2014 Chanel pre-fall collection? (Or maybe you just remember Walter Van Beirendonck’s fantastic response.)

Well, this season the designer wants to right those wrongs by attempting to address all of society’s issues by preemptively protesting everything: war, sexism, personal stylists, et cetera. For the finale of the Chanel spring 2015 show, which walked this morning in Paris, models carried hand-painted protest signs — many of which had “pro-feminist” slogans like “Divorce pour tous!”; “Ladies first!”; “History is her story!”; and, my personal favorite, “Boys should get pregnant too!”

Hey, ladies, get ready! Chanel brand feminism is big for spring 2015.
