Editor’s Picks: 5 Things I Liked at Paris Fashion Week on Monday

The collections that showed in Paris yesterday were all over the map: There were sparkly platforms, gobs of fringe — and even a super-sexy sweater dress. Here, the five things that stood out on Monday:

1. Cementing the flying-fringe trend for the season, Giambattista Valli’s fringe cooly swung down the runway, only to reveal lovely florals peeking out from behind.

2. Hedi Slimane’s rock-star platforms at Saint Laurent, which came in black leather, animal print, metallic blues, spangly polka dots — and even a gold glittering update to last season’s mod sparkly Chelsea boots.

3. Stella McCartney presented what may be the sexiest sweater dress ever.

4. We liked the army-green separates at Chitose Abe’s military-inflected collection for Sacai, particularly this look on Hanne Gaby: a take on the MA-1 bomber jacket, worn with more feminine chiffons and a lace-up flatform-utility-boot hybrid.

5. Julie de Libran’s debut collection for Sonia Rykiel was filled with great little striped silk dresses and knits.
