Olde Good Things is like the cavalry of salvageable artifacts; they ride in, sometimes at the last minute, to rescue endangered treasures from imminent demolition. And then, of course, they sell them. The company runs a salvage business (they recently removed a marble façade from a bank on 110th and Broadway) and often turn up unique, antique, and quite valuable treasures that can give your apartment instant character. At $9,500, a set of custom cabinets is a few thousand more than you’d pay for new, but you own a piece of history. And here, history comes at several price levels, from $35 for a glass knob, to $125 for an Art Deco door lock, to $1,750 for an Art Nouveau stained-glass window, to $5,500 for an antique pedestal tub.
