Giambattista Valli Isn’t Helping the Case for Pants

When asked why he never shows pants on the runway, Giambattista Valli replied: "I do pants! [Laughs] No, for the commercial collection I do have some pants, but when you do runway and you have to give a message, it has to be very focused. It has to be only one story. So in another collection, maybe I’ll only do trousers. But at this moment, I believe in dresses that you zip it on and it’s just one piece and that’s the look ... I did do some Italian trousers three seasons ago. You know, I love the idea of trousers, but right now I love the idea that in summertime the best accessory is a pair of tanned legs." [Moment/NYT]
