Black Swan Double Continues to Play Mind Games With Natalie Portman

Sarah Lane is determined to forever be known as the girl who accused Natalie Portman of stealing the credit for Black Swan’s dance scenes. Lane’s allegations that the Oscar winner danced a mere 5 percent of the film’s full-body dance shots while she, the double, danced the other 95, were denied by director Darren Aronofsky and Black Swan’s Benjamin Millepied. Portman herself said, “I had a chance to make something beautiful, and I don’t want to give in to gossip.” But the silent treatment isn’t stopping Sarah. On 20/20 Friday night, Lane said, “I’m not speaking because I feel like I should be heralded or because I didn’t get credit, but because … they’re completely lying about the amount of dancing Natalie did. They threaten the entire principle of ballet.” Lane admits, “It’s just a movie, that’s all it is,” but adds, “I expected Natalie not to thank me [at the Oscars]. At that point, I knew what was going on. I don’t feel disgruntled, but I did wish she could have said something nice about ballet instead of saying it’s horrible and that it was awful.” Nope, Lane doesn’t sound disgruntled at all.
